We realize that there are many options for your entertainment needs and we are honored that you have considered Party Host DJs for your celebration. Below is a breakdown of the various aspects involved with being a successful entertainment company. If components of this list look familiar, it should! They were first written and copyrighted as "9 Questions to Ask Your DJ" by our owner Dave Bolduc in 1987. We will never bash competitors directly; merely wish to educate prospective clients as to the questions they may feel are important enough to ask.

- first item Every event has a budget – A one price policy can't possibly be effective for a variety of affairs. Our basic DJ price for your party will be augmented by the enhancements you select. This gives you the best possible flexibility to fit the most value in your budget.
• We DO NOT Subcontract – When you hire a Party Host DJ, you get a member of our organization, not a DJ hired to do your event alone. This dilutes the quality and attention to detail we consider most important. Some entertainment companies claim to have "X" number of DJs, when in reality there is a core group – and many subcontractors. With the cost of benefits, equipment, training and music being in the tens of thousands of dollars per DJ, you can see where it is impossible to keep a large staff. A subcontractor may dump the contact if they get a higher-paying event of their own - a scenario we have had to cover for other companies many times of the years. Party Host is successful because we are an intimate company of professionals.
• Are You Insured? – Make sure the policy in effect for your event covers the required amount for your selected venue. A larger DJ company may be insured…but it is likely to be a blanket policy for any given day. For example, a $2 million policy covering 10 events will be split into $200,000 per event. Ask for the Insurance certificate and call the company, protect you and your guests. Party Host is fully insured and will be happy to provide a certificate to all who ask for one.
• Large Music Collection – Party Host has collected nearly 100,000 songs over the last 2 decades. Recently we saw a claim by a DJ to have over 300,000 songs!! This young man can't possibly realize that at the actual value of $1 to $2 per song, he is purportedly telling us that he has spent well over a quarter of a million dollars on music alone – c'mon!
• Our Equipment is Pro – Each of our systems is updated every 12 – 15 months. Currently we are using Denon media controllers, Apple and HP computers, Virtual DJ software, Mackie, QSC, and JBL powered speakers, and Shure microphones. • Professionalism – Party Host will setup before your guests arrive and perform in appropriate attire. Our normal dress is Formal for weddings and other events by request, semi-formal or business professional for all other parties. All of your completed planning forms and contract will be with the MC (Master of Ceremony). Our use of the microphone will cover necessary use, and not be abused (you will not be told a story about every song and hear the company name 79 times!). Party Host is available for contact by phone, in person, text, Skype, email, or mail!
• Do You Have Backup Equipment – Yes we carry backups of our essential equipment and have never in over 2 decades had a party end due to malfunction.
• THE BIG BLURB!! – Party Host won't advertise at your event unless asked to! We use wireless microphones for flexibility and movement. We do NOT drink or smoke at your event. We do have light shows and other enhancements that are designed to be unnoticeable when not in use. Party Host does not take leisure breaks. Party Host does not require meals as part of our contract. Having said that, eating is good! The event cost and overtime rate will be clearly defined in the event contract. A deposit is required to hold a date. Party Host encourages requests, but strictly adheres to a "Do Not Play" list. We do not audition live at formal events (we need to concentrate on your event!). Our music collection is up-to-date, and clean lyric songs are played at kids/school parties. Party Host can provide references, and belongs to major trade associations. Our experience allows us to use the appropriate amount of energy to motivate guests. We use a written contract to clearly define the costs of service, and event details.
